The purpose of the Heke Rongo膩 is to provide wh膩nau, hap奴 and iwi with rongo膩 advisors who are able to contribute to the reclamation, preservation, revitalisation and expansion of hap奴 and iwi health and wellbeing practices through the study and application of rongo膩. This includes the principles and tikanga of rongo膩; rongo膩 specific research techniques; M膩ori models of health and wellbeing, iwi and hap奴 knowledge and te reo M膩ori.
This qualification is intended for those with an interest in rongo膩 knowledge and application as well as te reo M膩ori and iwi and hap奴 studies. It is most suitable for those who wish to contribute to the health and wellbeing of their wh膩nau, hap奴 and iwi.
Graduates will be able to advance the understanding and promotion of hap奴 and iwi rongo膩 practice, good health and long-term sustainable wellbeing for wh膩nau, hap奴 and iwi. They will be suitable for rongo膩 advisor positions and other similar roles that seek to promote and enhance the wellbeing of wh膩nau, hap奴 and iwi.
The combination of beginner to intermediate level rongo膩 knowledge and skills, te reo M膩ori ability and established relationships with kaum膩tua, marae and hap奴 will position the graduate to work effectively with wh膩nau and hap奴 to contribute to the survival of M膩ori as a people.

Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa is a tikanga M膩ori tertiary education provider with its main campus based in 艑taki, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Hailed at the time as the 'smallest university in the world' Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa was established by the Raukawa Marae Trustees in 1981 with only two students. 

 A special and unique place of learning, Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa has become recognised over the last 30 years as an opportunity for all to learn within a tikanga M膩ori community under the principles of the iwi development strategy, Whakatupuranga Rua Mano: Generation 2000.

Whakatupuranga Rua Mano captured the health and wellbeing aspirations of the ART Confederation of Ng膩ti Toa Rangatira, Te Ati Awa ki Whakarongotai and Ng膩ti Raukawa ki te tonga in the lower North Island of Aotearoa. These are the founding iwi of Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa.
